May 16 ’17 LOGISTICS AND FINTECH Round Table

On May 16th, Logistics and Fintech will come together to discuss this exciting landscape. This time in Utrecht.

The Dutch Institute for Advanced Logistics (Dinalog) and Holland Fintech have initiated a programme Logistics & Fintech. Increasing globalization and complexity of supply chains, with involvement of numerous different parties, poses challenges – often with financial consequences. New technology-driven business solutions in financial services – FinTech – offer opportunities to make for example administration, transactions and insurance in logistics more secure and efficient.

We would like to invite you for our Logistics and Fintech round table session on Tuesday 16th of May. Together with several experts we will share knowledge around a specific crossover between fintech and logistics. 

Opportunities for Insurtech and Logistics
The increase of available data (especially when equipment and shipments are connected by the Internet-of-Things) provides investors and insurance companies with more and more accurate data about logistics processes, logistics assets and financial and operational risks. This allows financial institutions or investors to generate more thorough risks analyses of companies, operations and shipments. The increased insights in the particular situation of customers allows Fintech service providers the opportunity to delivery customer-specific, driver-specific, corridor-specific, region-specific or asset-specific financial or insurance services.
 
The objective of the round table is to explore:
–          The benefits of advanced insurance services for the logistics industry
–          The technological and organizational challenges in data capture, gathering and analytics
–          The business opportunities for Fintech and Logistics IT companies.
 
The outcome will be part of the Fintech & Logistics White Paper that will be published later this year.
 
Companies participating in the round table are also challenged to start working on the identified opportunities and challenges.
